Ryan Maxwell and Wesley Nelson have been long-time pals and had played together in several previous bands prior to forming Muzzle.  They were the two constant members in Muzzle while other the positions suffered  turnovers.    Muzzle split up following the release of 1999's "Actual Size".  After re-uniting with new material, they underwent more drummer changes and upon returning from a tour, felt that their new power-pop direction, deserved a new name.  Ryan and Wesley now head up "The Young Sportsmen".
